I know few people who are as proud of their country as Albanians. But I also know few people as eager to leave their country as Albanians. How can that be?

Albania has a lot to offer as a country. There are beautiful mountains, the wonderful sea and of course the good weather. But that’s not the only thing. Albania also has a rich history in which you can see the presence of the Romans and the Ottomans. The Mesi Bridge near Shkodër that you can see on the picture is a nice example of that. It is no wonder that Albanians are very proud of their country. I can recommend everyone to go to Albania on vacation sometime!

But to live in Albania is difficult for many Albanians. A big problem is poverty and low wages. Therefore, many residents of Albania are going abroad to earn more money. And it surprised me how easily the young adults can be active in Italy or Germany. With a work contract, it is simple to stay in these countries. There are also many Albanians who end up in America by achieving a Green Card.

Although I see that there are many things that could be better in Albania, I still hope that more and more Albanians will choose to stay in their own country. Albania benefits from having the younger generation continue to live in this country to keep it developing in the right direction. There is a long way to go, but hopefully that road will be traveled with an enthusiastic young generation of Albanians.
