It is one of Albania’s greatest ambitions: to become a member of the European Union. Although they already applied in 2009, they still have not succeeded in becoming part of the EU.
However, on December 6, 2022, Albania could present itself to political leaders in the European Union. Then, the EU-Western Balkans summit was held here. I wondered how everything was organized and tried to get close to some political leaders.
The Air Albania stadium and the neighborhood around it was completely blocked. Also, the whole route to the stadium from the airport was cleaned. Albania showed its best side. We will see if it is enough to gain EU membership.
